then I went to the brewery with some friends and thought my day was getting better. Well, I drove there with the windows down and sunroof open because it felt fantastic out. It started raining a little bit after I got there, so we went inside. A while later, I run to my car. I get in my car and wonder why I’m still getting wet; apparently I forgot to close my sunroof so my interior is soaked. If there is any consolation, my interior is Sensatec and it appears no electronics were harmed in my fuckup. Seems like everything is going to be alright, apart from my pride.

Yikes, definitely leave it well opened up (maybe with a fan running) in the garage (you park inside, right?) to dry out. The electricals may have escaped, but mold and mildew is still a very real possibility, and if you close the car up the humidi
ty will get said electronics damp.

I’ve got a garage for my M3, but not for my 3. I’m going to try and dry it out as soon as it stops raining.

Put a dehumidifier in there overnight for 8 hours.

Vacuum out whatever you can with a shopvac (or stop at a car wash and use the vacuum there), and then get a few tubs of Damp-Rid. Also go on a long drive with the heat and A/C running simultaneously and the sunroof tilted up to vent the humidity out.

I did that twice with my 97 Accord in one summer. We had a lot of flash down poles that year and a few caught me off guard while I was at work. One time it was so bad that my cup holder was literally full of water.

We had a surprise downpour a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I had removed the top on my Jeep. Thankfully I have the least amount of Daimler-Chrysler electronics possible.

I would let the M3 sit outside while the 328 dries out for a day or so.

As with all bad days, when it rains it pours.
Glad it looks like it’ll clean up without too much drama.
I left the rear windows down on the M5 for two days once. I got lucky.

I might need to do that. We’ll see after work tomorrow.

If it’s soaked, I wouldn’t wait. Musty smells form quickly.

When you get your phone wet you're supposed to put it in a bowl of rice, so...

I’m going to drive it to work tomorrow, so I’ll assess it then.

I mean, it’s not a Honda. So I guess it’s sauerkraut.

If the weather is good, the sun is even better than the garage, too.

Run the AC tomorrow morning and afternoon. If it’s too cold in the morning, use the defrost setting. That will get a lot of the moisture out.

Was it 3 inches of water in the rear passenger footwell bad? No? dry it out and you’ll be fine, mine was.

That makes me sad. I’ve left stuff down for a couple minutes before but usually get lucky. I drove past another clownshoe last spring that was parked outside in the rain with its windows down and it made me sad

Seems like it’s going to be alright, it wasn’t that bad this morning.

Shoot I learned something new, didn’t know you could get the M with sensatec. I feel like that’s perhaps quite rare?

My M3 has leather, the 3 is the one with Sensatec.
